True, if you believe insiders, the company has once again focused on the budget segment. This is a bit disappointing.
For quite a long time, various insiders have been reporting that Intel plans to outplay its competitors by introducing a new generation of its video cards before NVIDIA announces the RTX 50 series (AMD’s new generation is still in question and no one knows the exact dates). This will give the “blue” an important advantage – the company (and review journalists) will compare its new products with the RTX 40 and RX 7000 in tests, which will make the upcoming generation more attractive in the eyes of buyers. And today, November 30, Intel only confirmed these rumors, stating that the new video cards will be presented on December 3, 2024.
Unfortunately, the company decided not to even hint at which models will be presented, but insiders have quite extensive information on this issue, obtained from various sources. For example, it is highly likely that the “blues” will show the entry-level Intel Arc Battlemage B580 video card – it will, theoretically, go on sale at a price of $ 250-260, having “under the hood” 12 GB of integrated GDDR6 video memory and a 192-bit bus. The new product will work on the basis of the Battlemage BMG-G21 graphics processor with 20 Xe cores on the Intel Xe2-HPG architecture with a maximum clock frequency of 2850 MHz (in Boost mode).
The good news is that this budget graphics card, according to an insider from China, is able to compete in terms of performance with the RTX 4060 Ti model from NVIDIA (costs about $ 400). Yes, it is worth noting right away that the supplier of secret data did not provide any graphs with comparisons, synthetic test results or any other information, so you should treat these statements with caution. But if this is really the case, then with 12 GB of video memory and a price of $ 250, Intel has every chance to conquer the segment of budget gaming builds, especially considering that the RTX 50 generation will be clearly more expensive than the RTX 40.
There is also information that on December 3, Intel will also introduce the Arc Battlemage B570 video card, but there is practically no information about it – there is only an assumption that it will receive a graphics processor with a reduced number of Xe cores, which means that the model will be weaker and more affordable. But there is no information at all about even mid-range models, which is a little disappointing – perhaps Intel still does not plan to compete with NVIDIA and AMD outside of budget solutions. SourceĀ
