Threads, the X-inspired meta platform, has rolled out two new features to improve the user experience: scheduling posts and “tagging” re-shared posts. Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced the new features Thursday, following a limited test of scheduling last month.
Threads users can now schedule their posts , providing more flexible content management. Here’s how to use this feature:
- Create a new post.
- Tap the three-dot menu in the upper left corner.
- Select “Schedule” and set the desired time.
Once scheduled, your posts can be viewed, edited, or deleted from the Drafts folder. You can schedule your posts up to 75 days in advance , but note that scheduled replies are not supported at this time.
“Tagging” tools for re-shared posts
Threads is also launching a “tagging” feature to personalize reshared posts . With this tool, you can draw, highlight, or add arrows to existing posts. Initial previews show that this feature can add a personal touch or highlight specific items. The tool is currently being rolled out in select countries, with a gradual rollout planned for more regions.
In parallel, Threads is adjusting its moderation system as part of Meta’s general policies. The platform will replace fact-checking with a Community Notes system , similar to the one used by X (formerly Twitter). This participatory verification model will allow users to add context to posts.
Additionally, Threads plans to integrate political content into its recommendations algorithm, marking a change in how it manages content visibility.
These new features illustrate the continued evolution of Threads, which seeks to compete with platforms like X while meeting the growing expectations of its users.
